 ABA CEO, the Hon Anna Bligh AC will talk about the banking sectors new Banking Code of Practice, recently approved by ASIC, which represents a stronger commitment to ethical behaviour, responsible lending, greater financial protection and increased transparency. The new Code also has a section on services available to customers when they are experiencing financial difficulty

  • Ms Bligh will also talk about Comprehensive Credit Reporting as an important tool for banks to improve responsible lending and the work major banks are doing to address concerns about credit reporting and its impact on customers in hardship situations
