This half day seminar commences with a working lunch followed by presentations covering topics for all credit professionals. The topics include;

Dajana Malnersic, Partner and Kylie Tate, Special Counsel at Polczynski Lawyers look at new arguments in unfair preference claims including set-off and running accounts and give practical examples of how creditors can beat these.  

Dajana and Kylie draw on their experience advising creditors, administrators and liquidators on complex insolvency issues and preference claims in large corporate collapses such as the iconic fashion labels Marcs and David Lawrence, Clive Peeters retail chain, Allans Billy Hyde Music, Wow Audio Visual and most recently Dick Smith Electronics.

ATO Disclosure of tax debt

The ATO has announced that it will provide default information to credit bureaux. While this is game changing for all credit professionals many questions arise.

Nick Pilavidis AICM CEO has been part of industry consultation by the ATO and provides an overview of what to expect and how this will impact your credit decisions.

Insolvency Law reform, what credit professionals need to know about the new laws 

New legislation commenced 1 March 2017 and more commences 1 September 2017 which changes the rights and obligations of creditors during insolvency.

Adam Lysle, Stakeholder Relations Manager at Veritas Advisory, will  a practical review of the changes and what this means for credit professionals.

Join us for a night of networking, delicious food and live entertainment which is sure to keep you amused. 

The night features David Dogden magician and Mentalist.  A member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, he won fastest time in Australia for Houdini’s Classic Illusion Metamorphosis’ at the Australian Magic Championships.  Not only wicked on stage, David was voted one of Cleo’s top 50 most eligible bachelors in 2002.
